Speak at TMIA's Fall Conference 2008

1. TMIA 11th Annual Conference

  • September 23, 24, 2008
  • Renaissance at the Rogers Center, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

2. Selection Criteria

  • Service Provider Speakers are given priority. Vendor presentations will normally be limited to research, industry level subjects and panels. Vendors must have a service provider customer make specific product related presentations.
  • Should a vendor wish to propose a customer speaker, submit that speaker now so we can hold the slot. We can then work to confirm by early June.
  • Priority will be given to preferred agenda items below. However other subjects not included but within the messaging scope will certainly be considered.

3. Ranking of Agenda Items
The theme of the fall conference is Messaging and Convergence. Think of all the areas that are converging and you will find two common denominators... messaging and an interesting, educational agenda! In a survey of attendees from our Spring Conference in Orlando, here are some most requested agenda items expressed in terms of convergence.

  • Global Convergence- How can experiences of wireline and wireless carriers from Europe, Asia, and India etc. be adopted in North America? Without the concern of a one hundred year old legacy network, emerging market experiences are of great interest to their North American counterparts.
  • Technology Convergence- Voice and data converge as next generation messaging or Unified Communications. Wireless and Wireline converge with Fixed Mobile strategies for consumer and business. Screens and devices converge with messaging media like visual mail, caller id on the TV etc.
  • Media Convergence- The explosion of social networking on both business and consumer present many opportunities. Do we really understand these opportunities? What do we really understand about the behaviors of Generation X & Y and the impact on what messaging will look like in 2, 5 or 10 years? How will the advertising message change? How will messaging be monetized in the future?
  • Marketing Convergence. - Technology convergence has enabled our service providers to market triple and quadruple plays. Think of the messaging applications of the last couple of years like visual voicemail, web based message management, speech to text, etc. What may be new messaging applications coming to enhance these bundles? How can they be monetized?

4. Submission Deadline
