Toronto, Canada– May 21, 2009 - The Messaging Industry Association (TMIA), a not-for profit networking,
education and advocacy organization that includes over 45 leading messaging companies and telecommunication
vendors, today announced its 2009 Board of Directors and Officers.
Elected by their peers to lead TMIA through 2009 were:
- Selena Castellanos, uReach Technologies – Co-Chair
- Jackie Jackson, AT&T – Co-Chair
- Richard Ivancich, Verizon – Secretary
- Reade Barber, Rogers Communications – Treasurer
- Don Katz, SPEECH DESIGN – Director
- Valerie Beliak, TELUS – Director
- Karen Bruce, Cincinnati Bell – Director
“These leaders will be key to TMIA’s success in 2009, so the breadth of their knowledge and experience across
wireless, wireline, and all of North America will be invaluable,” said Tom Harper, Executive Director, TMIA. “In
an unusually challenging and competitive landscape, the Association will need to continue to provide its
membership with unique opportunities to learn, network and gain traction for new technologies and services.
TMIA has been extremely fortunate with the leadership and abilities from the 2008 Board of Directors and
Officers. TMIA extends its thanks to outgoing directors and officers for their dedication and commitment to the
organization, including Christine Johnson of Verizon, Tisha Rattos of Rogers Communications, Marianne Gedeon
of AT&T and Carla Russell of Embarq.”
