TORONTO, Canada -
April 19, 2004- The Messaging Industry Association (TMIA) held its
sixth Annual Meeting in Miami Beach on March 1 and 2, 2004. The
meeting included committee reports, the election of new board members,
and a summary of the year's activities from TMIA's European partner,
the International Association for Enhanced Voice Services (VMA).
Most important was the election of new board members from prominent
North-American service-provider and vendor companies.
New Board Members Elected
TMIA members elected the organization's new board of directors for
2004:
· Co-chairs: Valerie Beliak, TELUS, and Don Katz, Verilux
· Secretary: Christine Johnson, Verizon
· Treasurer: Matt Morrison, Bell Canada
· Director: JB Colletta, BellSouth
· Director: Craig Gorman, Cingular Wireless
· Director: John Haspil, SBC Communications
The Association also recognized three individuals for outstanding
contributions: Gord Fleming of TELUS, Bill Ehlinger of ServiceSPAN,
and Don Katz of Verilux.
